Terugploeg – help that works
Terugploeg is a food distribution and community upliftment initiative run by Atterbury Trust in collaboration with a network of benefactors and volunteers in the agricultural sector. Since 2020, Terugploeg has sought to responsibly uplift the Afrikaans community in need through food distribution, on-the-job training and job creation. With the input and donations of generous farmers, tons of fresh fruit, vegetables and game meat were initially donated and then responsibly distributed to Afrikaans communities in need. With the establishment of a facility outside Pretoria, the first step was taken to develop a long-term, sustainable process through which food can be effectively distributed and communities uplifted.
