GROOT GEEweek
GROOT GEEweek is a GROOTfm 90.5 initiative through which GROOTfm 90.5 lives out their mandate of “entertainment with a difference.” A special week is dedicated to stories of hope, testimonies and conversations with individuals and organisations that make a difference in communities every day.
This week once again enables us to expand, grow and further support the organisations and projects we are involved with.

2025 GEEweek stories
Grace Valley
Grace Valley is a safe haven for elderly people in need in De Wildt, between Pretoria and Hartbeespoortdam.
Thanks to GROOT GEEweek, a monthly donation could be established to support eight residents for a full year, providing them with the necessary care and stability.
Atterbury Trust Student: Ruhan Wesseloo
Dr. Herman van der Laan (cardiologist) saw him on 12 December 2025 after hearing Ruhan’s interviews on GROOTfm 90.5. He then made contact and indicated that he would like to walk this journey alongside him. We were also able to help Ruhan switch to a different medical fund, so that he could proceed with the necessary surgery in April.
Triomf Patient: Chloë Storm
Chloë Storm (13) is an outstanding learner who excels both academically and on the netball court. However, due to serious dental challenges, she has been experiencing daily pain and significant discomfort.
Thanks to generous benefactors, Chloë can now work with Dr Heloise Smit over the next few months to receive the necessary treatment.
Women’s Health – Triomf Clinic
Dr. Riana Malan runs a monthly women’s clinic at Triomf, where between 10 and 15 women receive medical support each month.
A critical need at the clinic was the purchase of Mirena devices. GROOT GEEweek made it possible to fund this essential support, thereby making a sustainable difference in women’s lives.
